Gaza and Israel casualty tracker
Reported deaths and injuries in Gaza and Israel
Reported casualty figures since 7 October 2023. Sources use different definitions and reporting periods. Figures are therefore presented separately.
About the conflict
The current phase of the Israel–Gaza conflict began on 7 October 2023, when Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups attacked communities and military sites in southern Israel. People were killed and injured, and hostages were taken into Gaza.
Israel subsequently launched a large-scale military campaign in the Gaza Strip, stating that its objectives were to defeat Hamas and secure the release of the hostages. The campaign has included air strikes and ground operations and has caused extensive destruction, displacement and loss of life in Gaza.
This is part of the wider and much older Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Israelis and Palestinians describe its history, causes and responsibilities differently. This page does not attempt to determine political or legal responsibility. Its purpose is to present reported casualty figures with their sources, dates and limitations.
Latest Gaza report: 2026-09-19. Figures can include deaths recorded or recognized retrospectively. They should not be interpreted as deaths that all occurred on the report date.
Latest reporting period
The Palestinian figures above were reported during the period and can include deaths registered retrospectively. They do not necessarily represent when every death occurred.
